In 2012, the international freight rail transportation of “Han Xin Ou”was opened by Wuhan Municipal Government. It symbolized Wuhan's participation in national strategies of “One Belt and One Road”, Yangtze River Economic Zone and the construction of the Asia-Europe Economic corridor. The channel of international freight transportation starts from Wujiashan Centra Rail Station in Wuhan, via Manchuria/Alashankou to Kazakhstan, Russia , Belarus, Poland, Czech Republic and to Hamburg/Duisburg in Germany, with a total length of 10,324 Km. It connects Central China to Middle Asia, Russia and Europe. In comparison with river-ocean multi-modal transportation, the lead time has been reduced up to 30 days when using “Han Xin Ou” .To the radius of 1200 Km, the “Han Xin Ou” covered 90% GDP area and 85% population of P.R.China. 

By operating the international freight rail transportation of “Han Xin Ou”, the traditional export and import structure that mainly depends on coastal cities of eastern China has been changed; the construction of the channelized logistical network and hub has been accelerated; the bridge of economic and cultural communication with the countries along the way has been built. For Wuhan and Hubei, “Han Xin Ou” is the pioneer of Hubei's “Open to the West”strategy and the integrated logistical hub. It also reflects Wuhan's determination of implementing our national strategies. The opening of “Han Xin Ou” has laid a solid foundation for Wuhan's roles on being the international logistics center, international shipping and trading center, as well as the globalized commerce cluster.

Wuhan Asia-Europe Logistics Co., Ltd (“WAE”) is the operator of the “Han Xin Ou” international freight rail transportation WAE was invested and is fully owned by Wuhan New Port Construction Investment and Development Group Co., governed by the office of Wuhan Asia Europe International Freight Railway Transportation. Since the normalized operation of “Han Xin Ou” block train in April 2014, remarkable success has been achieved, the frequency of block train kept increasing and the platform of the “Han Xin Ou” block train is developing, which has been highly recognized by domestic and international customers, as well as the Wuhan Municipal Government and Hubei Provincial Government.
