China Global Wood Trade Conference (GWT
China) is an annual event where global wood traders meet in China. It’s an
extraordinary opportunity to learn the latest Chinese and global wood markets
information, and to expand your business network.Established to facilitate and promote
information exchange and business cooperation for global wood trade community
in 2011, GWT China takes place in one of China’s major port cities each year.
Till now, four cities, which are Tianjin, Taicang, Guangzhou and Qingdao, have
witnessed the remarkable success of previous GWT China Conferences. Every year,
GWT China attracts more than 350 participants, including wood suppliers,
importers, wholesalers, distributors, manufacturers as well as trade
associations, industry experts, government officials and representatives of
international organizations, from more than 20 countries.
TimberWest is Western Canada’s largest private managed forest land owner, with 325,400 hectares on Vancouver Island in British Columbia. The sustainable harvest from the private managed forest land is 1.9 million cubic meters annually. TimberWest also owns annual harvest rights to 700,000 cubic meters from Provincial forest lands, with a combined total harvest of 2.6 million cubic meters annually.
TimberWest maintains a number of internationally recognized certifications. In 1999, TimberWest was awarded full registration of its Environmental Management System (EMS) under ISO 14001. TimberWest has been independently certified since 2000 under the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI®) on its private lands, and since 2007 on all of TimberWest’s public timberlands. TimberWest also has chain of custody certification.
TimberWest has no manufacturing facilities and is focused on marketing its finished products, logs, into Asia-Pacific countries. TimberWest has a long history in the log market in China. China is a primary focus in TimberWest’s efforts to increase log sales in the Asia-Pacific market.
