The Finnish Sawmills Association is now the supporting organization for the 5th China Global Wood Trade Conference (GWT China). It will help China Wood Importers Committee (CWIC), the conference organizer, to promote the 5th GWT China in Finland.
Having signed the Memorandum of Understanding in 15 September 2014, Finnish Sawmills Association is always a strategic partner of China Timber and Wood Products Distribution Association (CTWPDA), host of the 5th GWT China. The cooperation between GWT China and Finnish Sawmills Association dates back to 2014, when it became for the first time a supporting organization of the 4th GWT China, which was held in Qingdao. In the 4th GWT China, Mr. Kai Merivuori, Manager Director of Finnish Sawmills Association, made a speech on market update featuring Finland, which was highly awarded by the participants. Based on the close relationship, Finnish Sawmills Association continues to be a supporting organization of the upcoming 5th GWT China.
The Finnish Sawmills Association promotes the interests of the independent sawmill industry. Its membership consists of over 30 companies from all over Finland. Finnish sawmills manufacture and market high-quality sawn softwood. Finnish softwood is a versatile, recyclable, and low-carbon raw material with a wide range of applications. Softwood comes from sustainably managed and certified forests.
Finnish sawmill clients include construction, furniture, packaging, and joinery industries, as well as timber retailers and DIY businesses throughout the world. Typical end uses of sawn softwood include interior and exterior cladding, and joinery products such as load-bearing poles, support beams, windows, doors, furniture, transport pallets, and wooden packaging.
In addition, sawmills produce high-quality woodchips, sawdust and wood-based fuels for the pulp and renewable energy businesses. Finnish sawmill entrepreneurs provide dependable delivery, consistently high quality, and long-term commitment. (http://www.suomensahat.fi/ )
