Feng Guoqiang, started his career in forestry in February 1973, is among the first to join the China Expert Group on Forest Certification. Since graduation from Central South University of Forestry and Technology, Feng worked at Economic Research Institute of Chinese Academy of Forestry from 1982 to 1992 and Development Research Center of State Council from 1993 to 1997. From 1998 to present, he has been working at Center for Studies in Economic Development of State Forestry Administration. He is currently heading the Industrial Research Division and leading the research projects on forest industry development, industrial policy, timber market and development of forest enterprises and economic policies. The division¡¯s current on-going research programs include forest industry monitoring, projection of timber supply and demand, determination of harvest quota, Procurement Manager Index in Forest Industry, Almanac of China¡¯s Forest and Wood Products Industry, development of Chinese Forest Product Trading Network and research on the development of eco-industry and ecologically affected areas of Three Gorges Reservoir. Feng also has rich experience in long term collaboration on forestry projects with WWF and IUCN.
