Datuk Yeo Heng Hau possesses a Master of Arts in Economics from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, USA. Prior joining Malaysian Timber Council, Datuk Yeo has held many positions in the Ministry of Primary Industries, Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Housing and Local Government. Throughout his career, Datuk Yeo has engaged actively with the timber industry at different levels. At the regional and international levels, Datuk Yeo engaged with the International Tropical Timber Organisation (ITTO) and ASEAN member countries to develop and articulate joint positions in furtherance of producer nation positions on sustainable forest management. Throughout his tenure in the ministries over the course of 1976-2011, Datuk Yeo has repeatedly proved his ability to lead and formulate policies and strategic directions. In his final role at the Ministry of Housing and Local Government, the National Housing Policy and the National Landscape Policy were launched.
